Frankenstein: Creating a Monster

Frankenstein is a 1931 American horror film. The movie directed by James Whale is based on Peggy Webling’s play of the same name and had a significant impact on further development of horror film cinematography all over the world. It was followed with a number of parodies and interpretations, and this fact proves its enormous popularity among the audience and film critics.

Henry Frankenstein, the main character of the film, is a young promising scientist. He manages to collect the human body using various pieces . His dream to create a human life using electrical devices comes true but he creates a monster which knows nothing besides hatred and murder. When I remember a crash of thunder and the moving hand of the monster, it makes my blood creep. Actually, I am not keen on horror films but had to watch this movie, preparing for an writing assignment about the history of its creation. I understand why this film is not recommended for children under eighteen. Frankly speaking, I could not fall asleep after watching it. It is hard to say what makes this film so popular but nobody can remain indifferent after seeing at least some episodes from it. In the nearest future I will have to write a review of this film in |custom writing papers, but I am reluctant to watch it one more time and hope to find some sources with analysis of the main plot lines and characters.
